Follow-Up to the Leveler

Follow-up to this post. OH Ex not only mocked my "below standard" leveler, he also challenged my son when he said, "No dad it's supposed to be in there at an angle" (when they were popping the bubbly piece back in that popped out WHEN THEY DROPPED IT). Ex said, "Why in the world would you need a bubble at that angle? Might try the next step up next time you buy a toool." Oh you are a tool pal.

GET THIS: Mr. Dishwasher installer man showed up yesterday (MY NEW BFF). And as he was finishing up and patiently showing me how the new dishwasher was level and the cabinets were slightly crooked - he whips out his kewl leveler - compact and shiny metal and magnetic so it sticks to the metal thingy your leveling - clearly a TOTL leveler. And IT HAS A THIRD BUBBLE! AT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE!! SO vindicated. I asked him about it - and Mr. Patient and wonderful Dishwasher Installer explained that for steps or something at a 45 degree angle you'd need it - not something you'd need often, but handy to have.

SO THERE MR. VILA WANNABE. Oh and your cabinets are crooked....

Your cabinets aren't level? But I thought they were put in using the most expensive totl level that is hanging in the garage NEXT DOOR???
(DIRTFT signed in anonymous- it won't let me sign in and kids aren't available to ask...)

One comment about tools: I can buy the same golf clubs that Tiger Woods plays. I can buy the same bag, and golf balls. I can wear the same clothes that he wears. I can play the same courses. They are all the TOTL, best money can buy. But I cannot get the same results as Tiger Woods. It is not the tools.

Continuing the Golf analogy; there are many people that are playing with old or less that TOTL equipment getting wonderful results. It is not the tools. They have to be adequate for the task, but as long as they are adequate (not dropped and therfore damaged by the borrower) it is the skill of the user that generates the results.

HA! Not a cute dishwasherman - an older gentleman from Russia, where he worked in the biochemical warfare factories as a manager, his gas mask cracked and he breathed in some nasty stuff and almost died. So now he only drinks water. No chemicals of any kind. And lifts dishwashers like they're made of styrofoam...big bear. Interesting hour yes indeed...
