What Torture is This now?

Women suffer it all (in no particular order other than random): waxing, teasing, plucking, scrubbing, mud baths, depilatories, child birth, sloughing, peeling, dyes, straightening, curling, ironing, injections, and now....

EYEBROW THREADING. WTF?

Because we haven't come up with enough ways to be - um - handled? Mauled? Abused?

And you can get it done right out in the open at the mall kiosk. Yeah. That's where I like to have my personal grooming done. Right where everyone can watch. Do the nose hairs while you're at it ok?

Am I alone here or does anyone else find this slightly offensive??

Seriously? Out in the open where everyone can see? That does cross some kind of plucking grooming line. Yuck. I don't want to see that or be seen having that done!

I would not do it in the open--yuck. Just yesterday I saw someone flossing while driving--flossing?!

I'm sorry, but that's just wrong on so many levels.

Um...did that just arrive there? We've had those kiosks here forever! And, I just saw last week that there is an entire "store" now (or is it a salon?) dedicated strickly to eyebrows! It's called something cheesy like "The Perfect Arch" or soemthing equally as stupid.

Oops, I forgot to mention that this place is inside my mall.

I don't understand the problem. My gyno is in the center kiosk at our mall. I get a discount.

All my eyebrows are disappearing, so this is one treatment I would never consider anyway. But really... can you imagine having your unibrow done in the middle of the mall?

That's icky. And I've heard it hurts like HELL. I'll stick to getting waxed in private, thanks! (the eyebrows, that is. heh)

I was looking for a new place to get my eyebrows waxed & one of my neighbors suggested threading. I've heard of this before but didn't realize where it was located. This wasn't even an option. Not for a second. It turned me off. Still looking...

Much love from NJ,

This is right up there with fish eating the dead skin off your feet for a pedicure!!!

I think I'll pass.....and stick with my eyebrow wand.

My SIL has been getting her eyebrows threaded for years -- she learned about it while doing fieldwork in India.

Me, I'm of the camp that can't imagine waxing one's eyebrows, let alone threading them (whatever that entails). I mean, really. We're supposed to care about how many hairs our eyebrows have and where, exactly, they're placed? Maybe it's because my eyebrows are red and thus largely invisible, but I just don't care.

I agree...that must be very painful. And in the mall, yes, right along with those getting their teeth whitened, their nails done, and their bodies massaged.
What's next? Public bikini waxing?

I had a friend who once got her legs waxed at a store downtown. They did the waxing in the front window. Nice!

Eyebrow threading isn't Euuuuwwww - it's very sensible. And it's way less painful than waxing - no burns from hot wax.

I don't know about doing it out in the middle of a mall, but, really, it's no biggie and it's not gross - it only takes a few minutes at the place I go to, and you get to listen to Bollywood music while they do it.

Seriously - what's the "gross" factor?

Eyebrow threading is AWESOME and not painful at all. Why is everyone grossed out??? You clearly haven't had it done. I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for the last 4 years and I get compliments on my brows all the time. It is much more than precise than waxing. try it before you knock it.

Threading? Probably would do it. Out in the middle of a mall? No way.
