WAIT A FRICKIN' MINUTE wasn't that yesterday?

On my blog sidebar, do you see a photo of Son and Daughter together - first day of college?

Monday I am bringing Daughter home.  She is a sophomore now.

How the hell did that happen?

Where did the year go?

I'm just hoping it hurts a little bit less when they leave me again in the fall.

Because last fall?  Sucked.

I still miss them every single day.  I still can't get used to the quiet in the house at night.  I still walk by their rooms and wish they were in them, even if they were fighting.

I might even miss the dirty dishes in the sink.  Wait.  Nope.

1 week and all will be right with the world.  For a little while.

I bet you're so excited. I hope her heartache has healed a bit by now, and you two can sit around talking about what a jerk he is, instead of drying her tears.

It's so nice to read this because I never meet anyone who feels the same way I do. I DESPISE when they leave for school. It absolutely breaks my heart into tiny pieces.

Neither of my kids are in my state and it's killing me.

Oh geez, now I'm crying.

I truly feel for you, but I'm glad you're about to get your daughter!

I really really truly truly relate to this post.

My two oldest have graduated from college, are both starting grad school in the fall, and I still miss them every fricking minute.

Visits as often as they have time are the best, and, thank you Jesus, they make time often.

XO

Next thing you know you'll be going back for graduation.

My daughter gets to wear her white dress and descend the spiral stairs into the courtyard on Saturday.

Wasn't it just a year or so ago I left her as she and her roommate decorated their freshman dorm room?

Wasn't it just a year or so ago, that she called the very next day to tell me at 3:00 am they had a fire drill and got to see a naked boy streak past then be dragged back in police custody?

The time will fly past, best you can do. Just relax and enjoy the time you have with them.
