Farewell to Shoes ...

Changes are coming in my life.  It's time to tighten the financial belt and stop the incessant spending that has taken over.

Ever since Independence Day (September 1, 2007) I have enjoyed my financial freedom along with the freedom to wear what I want, cook what I want, listen to music when I want...the list is endless.

Now, however, I find myself facing some big changes.  I am selling the house and moving (still not sure where yet - first I have to sell the house!).  I am downsizing.

I am also shedding 90% of all my old furniture.  It is full of baggage I don't care to carry with me any longer.

Obviously I will need some new things when I land.  And I will have some expenses in the moving.

And so?  I have declared myself on a Strict Financial Diet.  let's hope this is more successful than my other diets...

Step one of the diet?

No More New Shoes.

These, then, were my Farewell to Shoes...even though I didn't know it at the time...

Alas New Shoes, I knew you well....

Wow. I'm doing the same thing-ish. (Not the selling the house part.) I just donated half of the stuff in my house. True story. It's amazing how much stuff "we" have and don't need.

But I think with all of the room you have created, physical and spiritual room, you have more places for shoes now. DUH! WINNING!

Hey, if we can vote on the new blog name, I am with ChiTown Girl...and my number one pick is

Far Away from the Assbag.
closely followed by
See Ya, Sucka.....

Much cooler than anything I could ever come up with.

I've been on a shoe diet of late and I can feel your pain. Love those pumps though!

I've been on the my-husband-is-unemployed and I-will-have-two-kids-in-college-at-the-same-time-for-the-next-five-years diet. I feel ya'.

Those were good last shoes!

Good luck with your downsizing. I went through such a diet when I found out I was having twins and would have three kids in preschool. Ouch. haven't caught up yet and they're all teens. Fortunately for me, or unfortunately as the case may be, I have a lot of trouble finding shoes that I can wear - so impulse shoe purchases are not a high frequency occurrence.
