Most people just google "next door 2 my ex." [really Ken just bookmark the site - or even Better, become a follower! It's so much easier!] every once in a while there will be some random google search. But this one, for some reason, just totally cracked me up. Who googles like that??!! did he think he'd find a photo of his neighbor on the website?

Thanks for the Obvious
QUICK POST FRIDAY
It's official - I have gained a lot of weight. Went for my rather overdue annual physical today. Yes, I am having avoidance issues. So the Dr. (a woman) says, "You've gained 10 pounds since your last physical. Not that you're fat, but wanted to make sure you knew that." OH GEE THANKS - NOPE IT DIDN'T OCCUR TO ME THAT THE ROLL OF SKIN HANGING OVER MY JEANS OR THE MYRIAD OF CLOTHES IN MY CLOSET THAT REQUIRE A CROW BAR TO GET THEM OVER MY BUTT HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH MY WEIGHT GAIN.
10 pounds when you're only 5' 4" is a lot.
Thanks Dr. Nice way to start the weekend.
My Ass Project '08 starts for REAL on Monday (see side bar). (Broccoli is in town for the weekend for World Cup Qualifying Match and there will be much beer and food consumed. And Yes I have a feeling the alcohol and food consumption might have something to do with my weight gain.....)

Vegas Baby!
I am going to be soooooo sick of hearing that phrase - what movie is that from anyway? Actually I'm already sick of hearing it.
I'm headed to a conference in Vegas. 3000 people. I'm teaching a class (no not on blogging but keywords, metatags and internet advertising and the trademark implications thereof - I'm actually excited in a lawgeek kind of way....)
And there will be lots of "client development" aka parties. Lots of parties. No I will not gamble b/c I hate gambling. But I will be smoozing, and "glad handling" and "grin & greet"-ing. Some of it is fun. Most of it exhausting. oh and I have to fit in my billable time, too and get my pretrial motions filed by Monday afternoon.
Sooooo I won't be blogging for a while. And when I get back on Wednesday for my Ass Update you can bet I won't have made much progress on slimming down....

CLARIFICATION ABOUT ABS AND ASSES
QUICK POST FRIDAY
Based on my previous post, some of you are under the mistaken belief that I have abs. I used to have abs. As shortly as 1 year ago. Then I stopped doing my 400 cruches a day and got lazy and now I have flabby abs. To Go with my Flabby Butt. And my flabby thighs.
Things are getting pretty flabby around here. Thus my desire - my need - to join Mrs. G's Ass Project.
I will rediscover the Abs....
Enjoy your weekend folks. Mine started early with the Captain. And we're having a great time! BUFFET TOMORROW! YIPPEEE.....

Daughter: If you're not supposed to give puppies and kittens milk, does the mother's nipples have water in them?
Son: Let's go to the "God-ih-va" chocolate shop up there...
ME: Huh?
Son: God-ih-va (pointing).
ME: OH you mea-'Ga-DIVE-Ah"? (Godiva)
Please people -he's 15....and driving...and knows the name..

[Edited to add: I can't take credit for the photo shop - my friend Ajay, who is a professional photographer/videographer took this at a show and sent them to me. He's very talented indeed! I can't even figure out "paint" which my technocousins tell me will help me play with photos a little....]

OUT OF SYNC
Memory Monday just became Quick Post Friday - I'll figure it all out next week maybe...
Back from a stellar weekend - thanks to all of you for letting me rant without condemning me. For cheering me on. For reminding me that my kids will choose my nursing home (DF)... (Oh and no worries on the "posting hi-jack" carol P - loved your comment. Sadly, Ex doesn't get that excuse. He is generous to a fault....with others...)
Funny that with that rant I am now able to release those feelings and move on. The peace that is within permeates. My job is crazy which actually makes me happy. My friends are close. My spiritual path improves. My cousin JO is reported to be nearing the neighborhood. Life is indeed rich and blessed.
And I have great yogurt.... who could ask for anything more?!

Phone conversation. Mom at work. Custody status: HIS
Daughter: I went through your mail. I didn't want you to think you had anthrax.
ME: HUH?
D: I opened your mailbox, opened the interesting mail, then put it all back in your mailbox. I didn't want you to get the mail tonight and think you had terrorists or anthrax or something.
OK so it was too much to ask for her to walk the 30 feet up the driveway and put the mail in the house?! (The same key that opens Ex's house opens mine....just another twisted factoid....)

Texting exchange yesterday while on my way home from work approx time they should be home from school:
ME: R U Home?
Daughter: No im dealing drugs in dc ill b home in an hour
ME: ok get a good price
D: will do we all kno who rly feeds this family
ME: lol ;o
Later discussion with said Daughter:
ME: that was hilarious
D: yeah I figured I was either grounded for life or you'd get a kick out of it. Glad you laughed
PLEASE NOTE: We are a very strict and straightlaced family. I was not ever a druggie and my kids are pretty prudish and open about things. Which is why this was even funnier coming from my evangelist daughter....
