Lucky 8

I'm a bit behind on my Tag from ModernMom - Sorry! She cracks me up and has great music while you're reading, so check her out and her 8 things.

Here's my Lucky 8:

8 Things I'm looking forward to:

1. MEETING THE BITCHES IN MAY AT THE "MEMORIALBITCH FEST!"

2. Going to Bed Tonight

3. going to Spain with the kids in June

4. Planting my spring flowers

5. Getting in Shape

6. Seeing Billy Joel & Elton John "Face2Face" in July with the kids, the Captain and my Bro & SIL

7. Talking to My mom again - we just hung up the phone and I can't wait to talk to her again. She's just like that.

8. Seeing my CT family - don't know when that will be, but I miss them.

8 Things I did Yesterday:

1. Partied a little too hard with my Bro and SIL and co-worker.

2. Snorted out loud, several times, on the Metro. See #1.

3. Called the Captain. Several Times. Giggling. See #1.

4. Helped my Pro Bono client find a job instead of seeking welfare.

5. Hit the Partner in the head with the Flying Slingshot Monkey. No, not related to #1. Before #1. My aim was off - I was shooting for his computer screen. Fortunately he laughed and joined us for a drink. And More fortunately He left before the snorting began....

6. Successfully (?) juggled multiple cases and felt a little better about my abilities.

7. Lost a 1/2 pound.

8. Went to bed before midnight (ok passed out on my brother's hotel couch...see #1).

8 Things I wish I could do:

1. Join the Captain on his 4 week cruise to the Bahamas.

2. Fly (without an airplane)

3. Make the annoying Drummer Man STOP once and for all.

4. Write better.

5. Have more patience.

6. Lose 10 pounds.

7. Be a better friend.

8. See my mom and dad more.

8 Shows I Watch:

1. I don't watch TV. maybe 1 time every few weeks. but If I did? I might watch Idol, or Boston Legal, or Seinfeld reruns, or House. OH I do watch the Gilmore Girls Reruns.

8 People I Tag:

Ain't Life Grand?!

Awww thanks Margo over at Life In the Short Lane for This Grand Award! And thanks for reminding me that Life Is Grand: full of Grand Blessings in the grand scheme of things. And here are my Five Things about Life that are Grand Right Now:

1. This is Son at the Grand - thought it was fitting to show this photo - and fitting this week to be grateful for his grand performances. He and Daughter are off to Disney with the Band, the Jazz band and the Choral Group to compete. He'll be accompanying the Choral Group during their competition. She's playing the flute in the Band. I'm very proud!

2. Job Job Job. Life is Grand when you are not only employed but you are also doing what you love. I do love my job. OH not every minute every day, but overall? It's a great place to earn a living and maybe help people once in a while, too. And yes I am so thankful to be so blessed.

3. Unexpected surprises from friends: Yesterday when I got to my desk, there was a cute heart-shaped pillow leaning up against my pink keyboard. It said, " coffee, chocolate, men. Somethings are just better RICH" My co-worker saw it and thought of me. We had a good giggle today then I hung it on my wall.

4. Finding Courage: Lately the Ex and I have been battling through email. Truthfully it's a bunch of stupid stuff, but he has a way of belittling me with his words and donning his annoying, superiority complex. Until I asked the Captain one night, "WHY does he annoy me so badly?" And the Captain quietly answered, "Because you let him." So here's to not letting him annoy me or make me feel negative about anything and feeling grand about who I am, or who I am becoming, without worry about what was.

5. Blogosphere Friends. It's truly grand to have this world of friends, supporters, entertainers, huggers, believers. People ask me, "Why do you blog?" Sometimes, just because I know you'll leave a comment and give me a little boost.

My Grand Friends? I'm not sure of the Rules, but here are some Grand Frequent Commenters:
Cheri at Blog This Mom - I enjoy her comments here and on other blogs. She's amazingly witty.

ChiTown Girl with her awesome Son who shaved his head for Kids with Cancer.

Suz at Busy Bee who is always there for me, making me laugh, rubbing in her spectacular Florida weather...

Bumpkin on a Swing what's not to love about hanging out on a swing in the lovely, warm, southern weather?!

And all you frequent commenters - thank you and please play along!

Go Forth And Be Grand!

Helping me Hide that Body

The great buddy award.
Pass this on to the kind of friend you could and would call if you had to move a body.

Thanks Suz!!

The Rules:1. Put the logo on your blog. 2. Add a link to the person who awarded you. 3. Award some other blogs. 4. Add links to those blogs on yours. 5. Let the other bloggers know they received your award.
Busy Bee Suz dropped this lovely award on me. I love her blog and, of course, love her because you never know what you'll find when you stop by, except you will laugh, perhaps cry a little and end your day being a better person.

I will pass this on to:
Jenn at Juggling Life because she is mom, wife, student, awesome blogger and bitchin' friend all at the same time. She has invited me to a special Bitchin' Blogger party at her house in San Diego if I can just get there, which I certainly hope to in May piggybacking on a conference there. And I know, without a doubt, she'd have the most kick-ass shovel ever and know how to use it if I needed her...
My cousin Jo just slightly younger but oh so much more durable. We've been "there" for each other for more years than either of us would want to count, despite never having lived closer than probably 500 miles. It's been mega years since I have seen her, but I know from youth experiences and from my whole Divorce episode that she'd find a way to be here if ever I needed her, wild horses couldn't keep her away....
Debbie at Etc. Etc. Etc who despite living in Japan manages to keep me company at all hours of the day and night. She's right there with bloggy hugs, funny emails and witty comments just when I need them most. And if I need her to wield a shovel? Oh yeah, she'd be here with style and maybe a pink flamingo for color...
Myra at We Make Three who has sent me the most delicious, awesome, incredible thing that I can't share yet b/c it's a surprise for someone else (who might read this blog) so that will have to wait, but Myra, artist, mom, wife, awesome person has so many talents, I'm sure shoveling and body dragging would be a no brainer, even with her hectic, full schedule....
There are many, many friends out there, and indeed I am blessed. Some of you have already received this award (and I'm hoping I didn't double-gift those above...I tried to check) and some I'm leaving for others to pass the award to. I'm grateful for all my bloggy friends and commenters. My life is rich and blessed by all of you!
